Civil War antiques seem to have a lasting impact with their collectors, which is believed to be associated with how the war affected so many Americans and how it also provided a new meaning of freedom for some of those Americans. The Civil War had brothers fighting brothers and cousins fighting cousins, and some even lost their lives at the hand of other family members. The Civil War unfortunately began in 1861 and was fought in over ten thousand locations from New Mexico to Tennessee to Vermont to down the coast line of Florida.
